Finally, there’s movement at 643 Haywood Road. Arancini Italian Kitchen is really, truly coming to the space that used to house Pineapple Jack’s. Chef Katrina O’Donnell and her husband, Daniel O’Donnell, will open an Italian restaurant and bar, Arancini Italian Kitchen, Nov. 17. The restaurant will be open for dinner only, at least initially.
“(We’re) in the polishing stages,” Katrina O’Donnell said, emphasizing that Arancini will be very casual. Customers will be able to order at the counter, find their seat and have their food brought to them.
The French Culinary Institute-educated chef co-owned and operated a food truck in Austin, also called Arancini. The truck served Italian comfort food including lasagna and the fried risotto balls for which it was named.
