Known for its Blue Ridge Mountain scenery and music scene, Asheville has also become a craft beer-brewing epicenter, with a lengthy list of local options and more breweries per capita than any other U.S. City. History buffs explore the 250-room, 8,000-acre Biltmore Estate, the largest privately owned home in the United States, built by George Vanderbilt in 1889. The Grand Bohemian Hotel is a favorite, and for good reason, with over-the-top, opulent accommodations.
